Members of the San Francisco Chapter of the German Wine Society will gather Saturday, December 2, 2017, for our annual Special Holiday Tasting Event and formal Annual Meeting. The Event will have a wide variety of dry to sweet wines including Sekt (sparkling), Trocken, Grosse Gewachs, Feinherb, Spätlese, Auslese, and two Beerenauslese. The wines will come from a number of different producers including, among others, Willi Schaefer, Kesselstatt, J.J. Prum, Joh. Jos. Christoffel Erben, and Schloss Schönborn, and will come from several different regions (Nahe, Mosel, Rheingau, and Rheinhessen).and vintages (2003, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2015, and 2016). Of course, a complete list of the wines to be tasted, including the Vineyard names, will be available at the event. Guests are welcome to join members for this event….cost details are below.
A members vote for officers of the San Francisco Chapter of the German Wine Society for 2018 will also be held at the December meeting. So we hope you join us and participate in this important part of this evening.
Time: 7:00-9:00 p.m.
Where: Home of Joan and Barry Boothe, 2435 Divisadero Street, San Francisco.
Street parking is available in the area.
Cost: $40 per person for members and one guest and first time guests (otherwise $50). Please note that
an additional fee of $10 per person will be charged for any RSVP’s after the initial deadline of Nov. 24, but all RSVP’s must be received by Nov. 28 with late RSVP payments received by Nov. 30.
Food: There will be our usual spread of enough delectable food to make a full meal.

All Society members and guests are reminded that alcohol consumption can lead to intoxication and therefore Society members and their guests are expected to drink in moderation at Society events. We suggest those attending either utilize designated drivers or other modes of transit where available, or mostly taste rather than consume alcohol when such drivers or alternative means of transportation are not available.
