Every year we host a tasting to provide members and guests with an early opportunity to try wines from the new vintage. Our host is Phil Bernstein of MacArthur Beverages, one of the leading retailers of German wines in the country.
The new vintage is 2015, which John Gilman describes as stupendous, with the potential to be the finest in Germany in 40 years. Jancis Robinson’s website says: Since the turn of the millennium the term ‘vintage of the century’ has been bandied about in Germany for 2005, 2007, and 2009. But 2015 may well turn out to be the real thing.
This event offers the opportunity to see for yourself and find out which wines you like.
DATE: Friday, March 10th, Doors open at 7:00 pm; Tasting begins at 7:30 pm.
VENUE: Harbour Square Club Room, 500 N St SW, Washington, DC. Marilyn Scarbrough has thoughtfully reserved a few parking spaces, but we cannot guarantee these will be available. Metro is accessible via the Waterfront Metro Station on the Green Line.

GWS members and guests are reminded that alcohol consumption can lead to intoxication. Members and guests should use public transportation, rely on a designated driver or taxi, or taste the wines rather than finish them.
