Happy Spring, German wine lovers! We are excited to present another tasting in Washington, DC. This time, we will be comparing wines from Germany’s noble grape Riesling with French wines made from the Chenin Blanc grape. Many wine tasters who love Riesling may have a new favorite in Chenin Blanc! We will begin tasting at 7:00pm, Friday April 21st, 2017.
German Wine Society board member Al Friedman will present on the similarities and differences between Chenin Blanc and Riesling. We will taste several different expressions of each grape in styles ranging from dry to lusciously sweet. Most of us are quite familiar with Riesling’s range of styles, and we will learn that Chenin Blanc can produce wines that are just as complex, interesting and in a range of styles.
