That Special Wine Tasting Event (sometimes referred to as a “Sparklers and Stickies wine tasting) will also include a wonderful buffet spread and will feature ten wines – Starting with two Sekt wines (sparkling wine) followed by two Spätlese wines, four Auslese wines, plus Beerenauslese wines with dessert, all produced by well regarded vintners. This will be another wonderful evening of fine & rare German wines from the San Francisco Chapter cellar and the cellar of the San Francisco Chapter’s President.Attached to this email are two files:1. Members and guests of Members of the San Francisco Chapter of the German Wine Society will gather on Saturday,
December 2, 2023 from 7:00 pm to 9:15 pm for a GWS Special “Sparklers and Stickies” Holiday Wine Tasting
and Annual Meeting Event featuring ten wines all produced by well regarded producers. The event will be at the
home of Barry and Joan Boothe (2435 Divisadero Street in San Francisco). Street parking is available in the area.
Food: There will be our usual buffet spread of enough delectable food to make a full meal, including dessert.
Wine: We will start with two Sparkling (Sekt) wines, one from the Mosel Region and one from the Mosel/Ruwer region,
followed by sweeter wines (”Stickies”) including two Spätlese wines, four Auslese wines, plus two Beerenauslese wines
with dessert (these last eight wines are currently expected to be from the Mosel, Mosel/Saar, Nahe, and Rheingau
regions). This will be another wonderful evening of fine & rare German wines from the Chapter cellar and the cellar of
our Chapter President. We look forward to seeing you!
Cost: The price for this event will be $65 per person for Members. Each Member may bring one non-member guest also
paying $65. To avoid the additional $10 per person late charge, please RSVP by Saturday, November 25, 2023, with
payment to be received by the Treasurer by Tuesday, November 28, 2023. Monday, November 27, 2023, will be the
last day to RSVP late (and pay the $10 per person late fee), with payment to be received by the Treasurer by Thursday,
November 2, 2023. Please RSVP early to give us sufficient time to ensure we have the amount of wine and food
necessary to serve all attendees.

To attend this event, we require that each attendee must be fully vaccinated against COVID 19 at
the time of the event, per CDC guidelines in effect 10-21-23. Also, we request that you take a
home COVID Test not more than 24 hours before the event (preferably the day of the event).
Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions or allergies.
All Society members and guests are reminded that alcohol consumption can lead to intoxication and therefore Society members
and their guests are expected to drink in moderation at Society events. We suggest those attending either utilize designated drivers
or other modes of transit where available, or mostly taste rather than consume alcohol when such drivers or alternative means of
transportation are not available.
