DESCRIPTION:खुश छुट्टियाँ That is “Happy Holidays” in Hindi\, I think\, which is pertinent\, because …This year the dinner will be at Rasika in the West End\, Friday\, December 6\, 2013\, starting at 7 p.m.  The address is 1190 New Hampshire Avenue\, NW Washington\, DC 20037.The venue is stunning.  We plan to be in a private room\, the Library.  The menu showcases such modern Indian cuisine as Tawa (Griddle)\, Sigri (open Barbeque)\, Tandoori and regional dishes.  Naturally\, this served dinner will be paired with fabulous German wines selected specifically for the dishes themselves.  Among the wines Rasika serves several come from  vintners the club favors\, such as Müller-Catoir\, Leitz\, Doennhoff\, and Erben.  All the more reason to come to this event!We are planning an extensive menu comprising a variety of dishes\, and here is just a hint of what we have selected:Starter of Palak Chaat (crispy baby spinach\, sweet yogurt\, tamarind\, date chutney)Entree of Tandoori Tamatar Salmon (Scottish salmon\, sun-dried tomato\, basil\, mint chutney) and Chicken Tikka Masala (the national dish of England!)Dessert of Cardamom Ice Cream (which is absolutely delicious!)A subsequent announcement containing the full menu and paired wines will be forthcoming.
