Last year the DC Chapter of the GWS poured several classic German varietal wines at the German Embassy Grounds for Washington, DC’s annual EU Embassy Day. Our mission was to educate the public on the wide variety and amazing quality of German wines. 

The event was a tremendous success and once again the GWS will be pouring wine and educating the public on May 14th, 2016 at the German Embassy Grounds. Please take this amazing opportunity to not only visit the multitude of EU Embassies that open their doors for the day but to also stop by and taste wines with the GWS. Hope to see you there!

Dear German Wine Society members and friends – from time to time, we like to let you know about non-GWS events in the Washington D.C. Area that may be of interest, involving German wines. Accordingly, we would like to bring to your attention a dinner event taking place this week featuring prominent German winemakers, organized by our longtime members Annette and Christian Schiller. Please see the notice from the Schillers for details.  Reservations for this event should be made as provided in the Schillers’ notice, and not through the GWS.

German Wine Society members and friends, we wanted to let you know that Shenandoah Germanic Heritage Museum will be hosting GermanFest at Toms Brook, VA on September 12th, 2015. This event is not sponsored by the German Wine Society but it would be a great opportunity to experience German wine, beer, food, and activities. Evo Bistro and ombiasy PR & WineTours are proud to announce that they will have the perfect spring menu for you: fresh, fruity, premium German Rieslings and Pinot Noirs with Driss Zahidi -one of the best chefs in the greater Washington area- preparing mouth watering courses to pair with the fruit and earth profile of the wines. Friedrich Jülg, a very promising, energetic, ambitious young winemaker from the Pfalz region in Germany, will pair his wines with the evening dishes.
